The Amptors are a species of tiger-like creature native to Illoral. In their normal form they resembled earthly tigers, but when evolution ran wild on the world they became humanoid and highly intelligent. In their intelligent form they were highly aggressive and hateful of the now-primitive Wingors. After the evolution inducing radiation was controlled they reverted to their natural form, but the Wingors rounded up the various beasts of the world in order to assist them in their evolution into intelligent forms.
