The Assemblers are a species of sapient arachnids that are noticed for being able to speak Galactic Basic, unlike most other insectoid species from their galaxy. To reproduce, Assemblers create a smaller version of themselves that they call Nodes, which act as drones and are loyal servants to their 'parent' Assembler. When Nodes reach a certain age, they become Assemblers and will sometimes eat their parent to take their place. Assemblers are not known for utilizing space travel very often, but two known Assemblers that did were Balancesheet and Kud'ar Mub'at, who encountered the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Boba Fett during the Galactic Civil War.
