The Attacker was the standard attack fighter and small 3 crewed spacecraft that can move at speeds that can match an F/A-18 Hornet. It was in the 1996 film Independence Day. The craft was used by many of the aliens that attacked Earth and tons came flying out of the Destroyer craft when the Black Knight Squadron first attacked the ship. They are known to at first to possess deflector shields capable of defending against bullets and even the Black Knight Squadron's AMRAAM Missile systems. Later on it was discovered that an attacker was stored and being rebuilt since the late 1960s was in the walls of Area 51. The remaining survivors also discovered how to neutralize the shields on their vessels by planting a computer virus into their system using their signal against them. President Whitmore led an attack squadron of remaining American pilots against the Destroyer and these fighters fought against the American forces, only this time the F/A-18 Hornets and F-14 Tomcats could defend themselves better. The only problem was that the humans had a small count of missiles, so they resorted to machine guns and one pilot named Russell Case performed a kamakaze technique with his Hornet and sacrificed himself to save the humans in Area 51.
