Berserkers are a mysterious species of alien warriors which have visited Earth in Medieval times and made contact with Norse cultures. The Humans mistook them for people wearing animal skins.
In order to create an army, the Berserkers sent mystical pendants to Earth, which gave those who held them the power to command others to do as they were told. Prolonged exposure to the pendant would influence the user's mind, making him or her increasingly aggressive. Physical changes started with the development of bright blue veins. Eventually, those who held the pendants would be transformed into Berserkers themselves.
