The Demon (also well known as a Pinky Demon or just Pinky) is a relatively muscular, human sized monster. Demons have no true name for their species, and are colloquially referred to as Pinkies.
Biology[]
Demons are of a pinkish hue and have yellow eyes, one downward-curved horn on both sides of their head, a jutting spine, sharp, bloody teeth, humanoid hands, and elephant-like feet. They walk with a long swing in their arms and move rather quickly. The fact that one variant is known as a "bull demon" may indicate that the "pinkies" are, in fact, females, though this is simple speculation. It could also indicate that pinkies could be immature or castrated (or some other form of removing sexual capability). A subspecies of Pinkies is eyeless, light tan, and quadroped, bearing more length to its body despite being shorter. Yet another subspecies of Pinkies somewhat resembles the original breed, bearing a similar boar-like appearance, although bears red eyes and is covered in reddish-pink spiked armor that covers the front of their bodies, leaving their backsides exposed and vulnerable. Armored pinkies have poor eyesight, instead relying on pheromone perception to detect prey. What appears to be a more evolved strain of armored Pinkies is faster, and bears lighter pink armor and yellow eyes, although the configuration of its armor is very similar. All Pinkies are unintelligent brutes that charge right at potential prey to bite them, and are extremely aggressive towards Humans. Their meat appears to be edible to other demonic species.
Alternate Form[]
There is an invisible counterpart of the Demon known as a Spectre, who possess limited psionic abilities that grant them their invisibility. They are exactly the same as Demons except they lack an easily visible physical form, giving them the same effect as partial invisibility spheres have on its users. They appear as slightly shimmering beings and are harder to see in darker spaces or along grey walls, but are easier to notice in lighted areas. When killed, their bodies become visible.
History[]
The Demons, better known as Pinkies, came from a demonic dimension called Hell, although they were never given a true name. Throughout an unknown period of time, some subspecies of Pinkies arose, and were used in interdimensional invasions, often fighting a race known as Argenta, who were led by the Order of the Night Sentinels. The Argenta priests turned against the rest of the Argenta, siding with the Maykrs, who struck a deal with Hell for their mutual benefit. The Night Sentinels, along with their champion, an unnamed human known only as the Doom Slayer, were trapped in Hell, where Pinkies and other demons launched a relentless assault on them. Only the Doom Slayer survived, and continued to fight demons for eons, until he was finally locked away in a tomb on the surface of Mars within an unknown universe. At an unknown point in time, some Pinkies were modified by Archdemons into becoming semi-invisible Spectres. Additionally, at some point, Pinkies either became delicacies among other demons or were hunted by an unknown predator. In the future, when Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) scientists were experimenting with teleportation technology on Phobos, they accidentally opened a rift to Hell. This caused a whole manner of demonic forces, including Pinkies, to come through the portal onto Mars' moons and the other bases. The demons brought destruction on the UAC bases and killed or possessed many UAC personnel, although they too were killed by a lone marine who stopped the invasion by killing the commanding Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind. Not too much later, they made their way to Earth to continue their attack there. It was here that the single hero, the marine, slaughtered the demon hordes, including Pinkies, and later managed to close the rift between the dimension of Hell and the Earth itself, sealing surviving Imps away in Hell. The corpses of Pinkies left on the Martian moons would later be revived by the Mother of All Demons, only for the marine to destroy them again. The marine then voluntarily remained in Hell to put down its threat forever, fighting hordes of demons alone, somehow going back in time and across dimensions, eventually becoming the immortal superhuman known as the Doom Slayer, the very one who had fought demons over eons. Some time in the future, in what appears to be another universe, an eyeless, cybernetically modified subspecies of Pinkies were among an invasion force that attacked a UAC Mars base, brought over by a human cultist named Dr. Betruger. An unnamed UAC Marine fought his way through the Pinkies and other demons to Hell, killing the Cyberdemon and stopping the invasion. At another point in the future, in what could be the same universe, armored Pinkies were brought over to Mars by a growing faction of cultists within the UAC, led by Dr. Olivia Pierce. Cultists noted that gnawed remains of Pinkies were found in various areas of Hell, implying that Pinkies are hunted and eaten as delicacies for other demons. Some cultists experimented with the Pinkies, granting some limited psionic abilities to create another batch of Spectres. When the demons launched another invasion of Mars, the Doom Slayer was woken up, as the universe he was held in was the very one being invaded. Retrieving his armor and weapons, the Doom Slayer eventually fought Pinkies, killing them and other demons, eventually killing the Spider Mastermind and stopping the invasion. Years later, in the same universe, a demonic invasion of Earth was launched at the order of the Khan Maykr, and Doom Slayer, who had been banished out to unknown regions of space at the end of the previous invasion, returned in an Argenta space station to combat the demons once more. A seemingly more evolved strain of armored Pinkies were used, who fought alongside other demons against the Armored Response Coalition (ARC), Earth's current defense force, and UAC security forces not loyal to the cultists. They were known to cause massive damage to ARC barricades, prompting the use of aerial bombardment against them before they could reach the front lines. Many were killed in Slayer's rampage throughout Hell, Earth, Mars, and Urdak. All Pinkies remaining on Earth were gradually killed or otherwise banished after the death of the Icon of Sin. Slayer then utilized ARC resources to retrieve the life sphere of the Dark Lord in order to destroy it, killing more Pinkies along the way. After reviving the Dark Lord, the Slayer returned to Earth on his journey to battle the Dark Lord, where he fought and killed some remaining Pinkies. All Pinkies outside of Hell were destroyed after the Dark Lord was killed.
Combat Characteristics[]
Doom/Doom II/Doom 64[]
Demons do not have a ranged attack but rely on their fast speed to quickly close in on an enemy with a vicious melee attack. The Demons move in a zig-zag pattern, making it harder to take a clear shot at them. Fortunately, Demons are rather oblivious and tend to roam aimlessly for quite a while before actually attacking.
Doom 3[]
The Marine's slower speed makes Pinkies harder to dodge, especially in tight spaces. They still run at the Marine, and their bites can disorient their victims. However, they appear uncommonly, usually after waves of enemies.
Doom 2016[]
Demons, now officially referred to as Pinkies, are far more vicious, charging directly at the Slayer. They must be dodged, as their frontal armor makes them nearly impervious to attacks directed at their fronts. If they ram into a wall, they will be briefly stunned, and they are slow at turning, allowing the Slayer to get behind them and attack their vulnerable backs. Their inability to stop or turn quickly can be used to the Slayer's advantage. The Gauss Cannon and other explosives can blast off the facial armor that Pinkies sport, giving them another vulnerable point.
Doom Eternal[]
Pinkies are stronger, now able to turn quicker and with facial armor that cannot be broken off. However, the Slayer can use the same methods of dodging to avoid the ramming attack, or use a Blood Punch that can instantly kill Pinkies, even from the front. An Ice Bomb or shockwave-upgraded Frag Grenade can also stun Pinkies, with Ice Bombs being the most effective.
