Arachnichimps (alternatively known as Arachna-Paniscus)[1] are a sapient mammalian/insectoid species from jungle planet Aranhascimmia.

Biology

Anatomy

Arachnichimps are Monkey-like aliens with four arms with three-fingered hands, four eyes with black pupils, three-toed feet, and striped tails.

Certain Arachnichimps alternatively have six eyes with pure black pupils, legs resembling their arms with two-toed feet, and stripeless tails.

Although they traditionally have blue fur and dark blue skin, Arachnichimps can come in other colors. For example, Arachnichimps from Dimension 23 have white fur and bluish-grey skin while Negative Spidermonkey has black fur and grey skin.

Reproduction

Arachnichimps are marsupial beings.[2]

Ecology

The Arachnichimps' natural predators are Root Sharks.

Powers and abilities

Arachnichimps can expel webbing using a silk as strong and hard as steel cable from their tails.[2] This wedding is very sticky, which they can use to trap other beings and blind opponents by shooting webbing at their faces. They can also shape their webbing into slings or use them to swing across vast distances.

Arachnichimps are strong enough to wield a lamp post like a baseball, carry a Queen Gourmand over their backs, and carry Humans while web-slinging without any difficulty.

Arachnichimps are very agile, acrobatic, and highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

An Arachnichimp's paws can stick to and be used to scale vertical surfaces, including ordinary walls and their own webs, like a spider.[2]

Arachnichimps possess enhanced dexterity and have both prehensile feet and tails, which they can use as extra hands to carry objects.

Arachnichimps are quite durable for their size, being able to survive having several large pieces of concrete fell on them and being knocked into a large pile of garbage.

Arachnichimps have hearing superior to a Human's, being able to hear a conversation from several feet away.

Weaknesses

Arachnichimps can accidentally get tangled by their own webs. Furthermore, enemies can easily use their webs to their advantage.

An Arachnichimp's webs can either be frozen and made brittle by the ice breath of a Polar Manzardill or melted by the energy generated by a Crystalsapien.

An Arachnichimp's webs can be torn apart by a species with equal or greater strength than a Cerebrocrustacean.

Arachnichimps can be affected by magic, as there is a spell that can stun them. They are also vulnerable to electricity.

Due to their size, Arachnichimps are vulnerable to being blown away by a Geochelone Aerios' tornadoes.

There is a limit to an Arachnichimp's durability, as they can be disoriented by objects that hit them on the head. They can also be incapacitated by quills fired by Argit's Species.

Getting up on their feet too quickly can leave Arachnichimps lightheaded, indicating a limit to their agility.

Unless they maintain their health as they age, an Arachnichimp's stamina will put them at a disadvantage. In turn, this will make them vulnerable to muscle cramps.

Culture and society

Arachnichimps seem to have a monarchy type of society.

Notes

  • The name Arachnichimp is a combination of "arachnid", referencing their spider-like abilities, and "chimpanzee", referencing their mammalian-like appearance; it was first used on-screen by Simian in the Alien Force episode "Birds of a Feather".
  • The Arachnichimps were conceived by Dwayne McDuffie and Glen Muramaki.[3]
  • The Arachnichimp hairstyles seen in Omniverse are based off the Marvel Comics character Beast.[4]
  • Before making their debut in the reboot series, it was confirmed that the Omnitrix in that series contains Arachnichimp DNA.[3] Therefore, Spidermonkey is one of the countless aliens whose DNA pod was glimpsed in the episode "Innervasion Part 5: High Override".
    • Initially, there are no plans for Spidermonkey to physically appear in the reboot.[3] However, it was later revealed the statement was made to prevent spoilers for the movie event Ben 10,010.
  • Although they are from different universes, Arachnichimps are physically stronger than Metahumans with the same powers as Spider-Man.[5]
