The Friendly Tree is a sessile carnivorous life form native to the planet Venus. Although it looks like a tree, it possesses tendrils with sucking cups which it wraps around unsuspecting victims to suck out their fluids. However, the name of this species comes from its extremely sluggish movements, which set it apart from the other predatory tree-like creatures of the planet, as it ends up being the only "tree" that a tired explorer may be allowed to safely rest upon, and even sleep upon for a few hours. This species was discovered by the famous British explorer Patrick Burlingame in the 21st century. It looks almost identical to the Pharisee Tree, which is much more deadly.
