Nudj are swamp-inhabiting, lizard-like reptilianoids indigenous to the planet Dagobah. They nest in trees, making them at least semi-arboreal, favoring moist caverns and marshes as their preferred habitats. Despite a somewhat fearsome appearance, they are extremely docile. They are responsive to Force energy and have been stated by some to add to the Force, making them a definite Force-sensitive candidate.

- Unlike most Star Wars creatures, Nudj show significant resemblance to an actual species found on Earth. They look like relatives of Earth lizards, because a real lizard was used to portray the species in the movie due to budget constraints.
