Opticoid (a play on "optical") is a species from the planet Sightra (a play on sight).
Appearances
Opticoids are tan-colored reptilian creatures. They have at least 17 eyes (none of which are on the face, ironically) scattered across their muscular upper body. Their face consists of only a mouth and 2 pink, bat-like ears that dominate most of their head. Their legs are thin and slightly bulky, and they have 4 fingers and 3 toes.
Abilities
Being reptilian, Opticoids can scale walls with relative ease. They also have 360 degree vision. Their most well-known ability is firing energy blasts from their eyes. By joining 2 or more eyes together, they can fire alternate types of blasts (how this is possible is unknown as Eye Guy never dwells on it), such as a freeze ray by merging 3. Their most powerful ability is signaled by all the eyes but the one on their chest vanishing. Their chest eye then gouges out and fires a powerful energy blast.
Also, their bat-like ears can detect would-be attackers and using their enhanced strength to throw enemies with ease. Their vision is similar to Earth's insects and seeing in green, their pupils is also similar to certain Earth's reptiles and felines.
Notes
- Their resemble and shown mammal like traits, they would evolved from reptiles towards synapsid-like beings.
- Not related to bats. But, they do have bat ears and hearing abilities. Opticoids are the only reptilian species with cartilage-like bones in the Ben 10 universe.
- In Omniverse, they have insect-like vision and can only see green.
- Unlike the majority of the jelly-like creatures native to their homeworld, Opticoids are made of stiff cartilage and not bone.
