The Qomar are a spacefaring humanoid species native to the Delta Quadrant of the galaxy. Characterized by their short stature and a distinct vertical ridge above the nose, the Qomar exhibit a superiority complex over other lifeforms and pride themselves in their mathematical abilities and advanced intellect, to the point of treating other civilizations with clear contempt. They are perhaps most notable for having absolutely no concept of music until making contact with the USS Voyager in 2376 when they casually heard the EMH singing and found it fascinating, resulting in the holographic physician becoming an instant celebrity on their homeworld. After experiencing a few days of fame (complete with fanatical Qomar who wanted to know up to how many decimals he could calculate pi, among other trivia) the EMH was used as the basis for a new hologram capable of performing more complex symphonies and singing a wider range of sound frequencies, which soon became the new sensation on the Qomar homeworld.
