Hello there! Welcome to Alien Species Wiki! We here are very happy that you are joining our wiki! We have a wide variety of things for you to explore, and hopefully you will become one of our regular contributors. A good place to start is here:

We know that's a lot to handle, but don't worry, if you require any assistance one of our admins will be happy to help you! Have fun!

Good to see you again! Edit

It's doing well! Styro's lost internet and Ping's got no computer, so not much is going on, but we haven't had any problems in ages. HolbenilordTalk 21:38, March 6, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Thanks Edit

Hey, thanks! It isn't often that users get praise for their hard work, so it's always good to get such appreciation. Just doing my job.

By the way, for some reason the Chat function doesn't work on my iPod or my main computer. I would think that it's not compatible with Apple products, but my computer uses Windows. Any ideas, or just more glitchery? User: Dr. Anonymous1 00:49, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

IC just kinda left, so it was us hard sci-fiists that have been working away. He comes every now and then, but I don't think he really reads it any more. HolbenilordTalk 10:53, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

Dantescifi Edit

While I appreciate all the species he's been adding up (though he's only copy-pasting, which I could have been doing all this time too...but that's alright, I suppose; we really should at least have the articles, right?), his activity has become suspicious to me, and I've been keeping an eye on him. Since he hasn't been adding images to his innumerable Wookieepedia articles that would otherwise possess them, I was taking the liberty of adding a few of them myself when I noticed he created some, but in the process noticing that a number of the pages he has been adding do not exist on Wookieepedia at all. The numbers are becoming staggering and honestly, I severely doubt that the Star Wars community would overlook so many species. The fact that so many of his articles also list them as looking "identical to <such and such other race>" is also strange and highly suspect, as what writer of official fiction would do this so often? Wouldn't they simply use the existing races instead of making up some random "identical to another" race? Star Wars has thousands of races, sapient, non-sapient and semi-sapient. I think they could find a race to suit their needs.

The thing that made me truly suspicious however was when I posted up my questioning as to what books these species came from or if they happened to be fanon, Dantescifi deleted every instance of me creating talk pages about it, and then refused to respond to his own talk page. That is not a natural reaction unless someone is trying to hide something.

I have come to the conclusion that a large number of his articles are in fact fanon, and he is abusing the wiki for his own monumental achievement gain. I suggest a hearing between the admins to figure out what to do about his actions. In the end, temporarily blocking or even permabanning him does not take too much away from us - I can easily copypasta like 10-50 Wookieepedia articles a day myself; I just prefer to rewrite all the information I come across, which generally takes time per article and usually leads to me adding far fewer articles than I otherwise could be contributing. It should be noted that there is a second Star Wars wiki that I know of - The Old Republic Wiki. I have not checked this site for his adds yet to see if they may have made their first appearance in that game, though I highly doubt it to be true that they did (though I do know one fan created species does appear in Old Republic). I will begin compiling a list of species he has added that I cannot find on Wookieepedia or Old Republic Wiki, and create a blog about it so it's easier for everyone to access. Keep me and the others posted on thoughts or ideas. -- Somarinoa 15:12, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

Mental Sigh Edit

Yeah, I kind of reconsidered that after I sent it.

By the way, he hasn't said anything yet. Hate to break it to you, but I think he has more pressing matters than a long-dead feud with some other user. Sorry. User: Dr. Anonymous1 02:42, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

ROY Edit

who is this gay anyways. --Owen1983 16:07, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Who you areEdit

Actually, I don't know who you are. But I never thought you had bad intentions, or that I said anything to you about it... either way, nice to meet you.

IRC Edit

Can you enter #wikia-metroid? That way you can give loudclaw the account. The MarioGalaxy2433g5 {talk/contribs} 23:21, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

that hurt man Edit

that really hurt man :'( honestly though, a lot of the admin work isnt being done around here and I understand the reasoning behind it. If I became an admin, I would completely redo the theme, and the front page . . . and eventually launch a total re-structuring the categories o _ o and I would do the brunt of the work (wouldnt be the hardest thing i ever did) I really just want to help ralok 19:41, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

I hope you become admin because you have good intentions and I am with you because the wiki needs you.--Owen1983 17:42, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

added response Edit

I agree with your views that admins should be kind and civil at all times plus we have a lot of admins but no patrollers (rollback).--Owen1983 20:37, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

yes i need help can you get name for the metarex from Sonic X right i add meatrex it got wrong

Styro here. Has there been any updates with Aerie? Sorry for the ambiguity, but you can imagine that would be deliberate... QE 21:46, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me THE DAY AFTER MY LAPTOP BROKE. No, seriously, I'll tell the people necessary. The MarioGalaxy2433g5 {talk/contribs} 15:58, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

Is fanon allowed on the wiki?

Optimal848 (talk) 12:22, August 9, 2012 (UTC)Optimal848

RE: FanonEdit

Sorry about that. What I was trying to say was if your own ideas are allowed on the wiki.

I'm back! Edit

Hello fellow ASW crewmembers! I'd like to deeply apologize for my five months absence here, caused by combination of computer problems and lack of free time. I see you have done some amazing work, ASW is looking better than ever. I realize that it was very irresponsible of my part to stay away for so long. But I'm back now and planning to stay! I've just created pages for the Levanians, Selenites, Sensorites and a couple of others. I'll do my best to add at least one new species every week from now on. -- BlueFrackle (talk) 19:57, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry Edit

Muppetickler is one of a long-line of sockpuppets going back to a user called "crazydiddykong" this user vandalizes multiple wikis with an insane view of the world in which involves muppets and character recycling (believing firmly that roger smith and a character from planet 51, who share no personality traits or animation style, to be the same character and that both are muppets) these user accoutns have been repeatedly blocked wikia-wide, you can see the history of user changing on the planet51 wiki as well as a deranged network on youtube of accounts that upload random muppet videos naming them planet51 videos. . . The user is not blocked because the user is a bad person though, I firmly believe him/her to be a mentally ill person, unfortunatly his/her behaviour is disruptive and destructive. As you can see on the fictional character wiki in particular this page ralok (talk) 20:48, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Hello again and RFA open Edit

Hey there Insurgence! Fine here, thanks, and I voted too! It's great to see you're eager to work on policy because right now things are a bit of a mess, but I hope I can help you with that in time. The categories are a mess too, but I'm planning to work on them soon. Just like to let you know: the anonymous IP you left a message to recently is actually me, I didn't log in to do the massive re-categorization because I didn't want all those pages to go to my list of followed articles, hehehehehe. As for archiving the talk page, thanks but I'll politely decline. It's sort of long but my Internet handles it fine, so no need to archive now. Good luck with the RFA, see you! -- BlueFrackle (talk) 22:15, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

non-sapient species Edit

II see you are fixing the categories in that area, thank you very much. I would like to note that we want to phase out the "fauna" and "flora" designations. Instead we want to use "wildlife" for animalistic creatures, and "vegetation" for plant-like (and fungal) organisms. Although the categories are not as "scientific sounding" they are more scientifically accurate, and allow for the information to be sorted in a way that makes sense to the cultural mindset we have towards these organisms. ralok (talk) 23:44, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

we are still keeping the "non-sapient species" category, just note that both plant-like organisms and animal-like organisms are sorted into it. I hope I have not caused any necessary confusion. ralok (talk) 23:49, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

thank you Edit

thjank you for pointing that out, I am first and foremost a content editor so I am not experienced with policy and stuff like that. ralok (talk) 02:39, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the apreciation, i do try to keep the editing down to a minimum but my conection has a tendancy to drop out suddenly, one example of this was when i was doing the Mondoshawan page, ide just finished the first two paragraphs when i dropped out before posting (suffice to say this was anoying) and had to re do it all.

Hope this helps explain why it shows me editing the same page about thrity times over, when in fact i not actualy leaving the page i just post before my router crashes. Thracian117 (talk) 13:40, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

continuity snarls Edit

hey do you know if we have template here to mark pages with a significant continuity snarl? That is to say massive amounts of continuities, and continuities with little to do with each other . . . basically out of hand horrible continuity. I feel the urge to block pages like this, but it would be wrong . . . at the very least I think pages with horrible continuity issues (like Krypton) need to be lebeled to help clear confusion. Also I think it should be policy that continuity-snarls need to be treated from as much of an out-of-universe viewpoint as possible . . . .gAAAAAHHH STUPID SUPERMAN CONTINUITY, how on gods green earth do you check continuity for stuff that has appeared in over a million comics (and yes, I think that is technically correct) ralok (talk) 02:55, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

well for "universes" that contain a multiversal strata I am breaking the rule of thumb (treat articles as if they are from an in-universe perspective) because there isnt much of a choice. For franchises with borked continuity (AVP) I am seperating things into sections that list the origin of the material (I know iti s standard to use the "sourcing" dynamic, but I prefer to label things so people know where the info comes from . . . as wel ltwo little numbers at the rear end of something creates teh problem that people arent sure which info it pertains too) I really am starting to hate franchises taht cant keep their continuity together. ralok (talk) 21:58, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

he isnt Edit

He isnt a new user, the IP address has changed but he has indicated more than enough that he was teh creator of the original "The Gray Alien" page, a user taht severely vandalized the wiki seemingly under the delusion that the book "Alienology" was non-fiction, changing other species pages to try and reflect the species presented in the book and insulting other users. Also he insulted this wiki and its purpose, and the people on it, "you not gonna tell you all this again. You guys are movie fanatics and need to step into reality." but . . . I cant say I disagree, I was a bit harsh towards this person, and in-general my harshness is why I try to refrain from communicating with other users too much, but in this instance I feel like this person has gone out of his way to personally insult me and other people I respect on multiple occassions. You can see some of the behaviour i am talking about on the users previous IP address ralok (talk) 23:03, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

and apologies Edit

and I must apologize for editing your comment on the users talk page, but you improperly linked to the category "Actual Universe" caused the talk page to be placed within the category. I am extremely sorry, but please keep in mind that when linking ot categories . . . if you dont want to put the page within the category include a comma before the word category like this I truely hate editing other users posts, the only reason I did os here is because it affected another page . . .. again I am extremely sorry :( ralok (talk) 23:11, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

You've been promoted! Edit

You've been given bureaucratic status. Congratulations and good space hunting! — Somarinoa (talk) 08:21, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Insurgence deserves it, especially for putting up with a lot of my childish bullcrap! not everyone has the endurance to deal with my critical and harsh nature. ralok (talk) 17:10, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Ralok Edit

Thankyou for addressing Ralok on his behavior he is a good admin but he needs to understand how to communicate with new users and to use civility. --Owen1983 (talk) 14:50, June 3, 2013 (UTC)
