The Yridians (Borg designation Species 6291) are a spacefaring humanoid race which is known through the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy as mercenaries and "information smugglers". They can operate either individually or in groups, but usually the former.
They are physically distinguished by the very wrinkled skin, purplish-tan in color, flat faces and large ears. They have four fingers on each hand; none of which appears to be opposable, which is somewhat unusual for a humanoid species.
There are some known individuals which, although never explicitly identified as Yridians, look almost identical to the species, with the exception of possessing five fingers, a different skin color and hair on the head. It is currently unknown if these represent a different species, subspecies of simply an ethnic variety of Yridians.
